Objectiv documentation

Objectiv (AZO = A-Zing's Objectiv) is the developer workbench: multi-root workspace, Monaco editor, integrated terminal and Git, the Objective agent, and a curated extension marketplace. Community is free; Enterprise is license-based for on-behalf chat, mail, meetings, and the full catalog.

Get started (from source)

Build and run from the objectiv repository on any supported OS:

cd objectiv/app && npm install && npm run dev
# Desktop (Tauri, macOS / Windows / Linux): cd objectiv/desktop && npm run dev
# Production desktop bundle: cd objectiv/desktop && npm run build
# Full rebuild: npm run reload --prefix objectiv

Web dev server defaults to http://localhost:5173. For the Objective sidecar, see objectiv/docs/OBJECTIVE_PILOT_OBJECTIV.md in the monorepo.

End-user installers and platform tables: download page.

Workspace concepts

  • Roots — One or more folders in a single window; each root can own terminal and SCM context.
  • Remote — SSH and remote development follow the same multi-root model as local paths.
  • Settings — User JSON plus product keys prefixed with objectiv. and objectiv.agent.
  • Appearance — Themes and accents from marketplace packs apply to the workbench chrome.

Objective agent

The agent uses the A-Zing coding-agent harness: search, unified diffs, terminal invocation, and trajectory labels. Recommended defaults:

  • objectiv.agent.approveBeforeApply — true for reviewable patches
  • Model endpoint — Settings → Objective (Ollama URL or OpenAI-compatible base URL + key)
  • Enterprise comms tools — require valid license JWT; see editions doc

Marketing overview with screenshots: features → Objective agent.

Integrations

Configure only the providers you use under Settings → Integrations:

MeetingsZoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack Huddles/calls, Google Meet
MailConfigurable IMAP and POP (host, port, TLS, credentials)
NotificationsToasts, bell inbox, desktop OS alerts, reply popups

Naming

  • Objectiv — the product (portal + shell)
  • Objective — the coding agent
  • AZO — short brand code

Catalog URL

Production marketplace catalog (Objectiv clients):

https://marketplace.project-objectiv.com/catalog.json

Mirror path on the main site:

https://project-objectiv.com/marketplace/catalog.json

Override in Objectiv: Settings → Objective → Marketplace → Catalog URL, or set VITE_OBJECTIV_MARKETPLACE_CATALOG_URL at build time. Schema: marketplace format.

Enterprise license

License server: https://license.project-objectiv.com. Activate in-app under Settings → Product → License (org ID, seat email, activation code), or use the HTTP API documented on editions & license.

JWTs are HS256-signed at activation; refresh with POST /v1/license/refresh before expiry (typically 30 days).

Publish extensions

Sign in via A-Zing SSO, validate your pack, and publish to the marketplace subdomain. Community authors ship themes, snippets, and config; tier flags may restrict Enterprise-only entries.
